How many times have you received a ticket in the mail for running a red light? Did you receive it before or after the legislature approved the use of video cameras on the lights?
On Thursday, June 12, 2014, the Florida Supreme Court ruled that several local governments, including several in Tampa, Orlando, and Aventura were acting illegally when they set up and used these video cameras prior to July 1, 2010 when state law approving them took effect.
Do you think it is right for the government to have issued tickets prematurely? Most people do not even realize they received a ticket before it was legal for the government to issue them.
